Myrtle Beach Golf Courses get new Greens

Over the Summer months, there will be six golf courses closing to install new greens here in Golf Town, USA. Why new greens? With the hot Summer weather in Myrtle Beach, golf courses along the Grand Strand are switching from Bent Grass Greens to Bermuda Grass Greens. Bermuda Grasses can handle the extreme heat in the South during the summer months better than bent grass. Not only can the new hybrids of Bermuda such as Champion, Mini Verde and Passpaulm handle the heat, they are also know as a fast growing grass, durable and able to recover quickly from ball marks and damage. These types of hybrid are also known for excellent putting surfaces and can get speeds to a 10-12 on the stimpmeter.
